The Department of Automated Control Systems, Lviv Polytechnic National University, invites third-fourth year students, masters and postgraduate students to take part in the Winter School «Big Data and EU Data Protection», which will be held on February 8–12, 2021 by the ACS Department within the framework of the Jean Monnet Module «Data Protection in EU», ERASMUS+ programme with the support of the European Union.
This School is for you if:
- You like working with data, looking for hidden patterns, gaining new knowledge from arrays of information, analyzing and visualizing data;
- You are planning your own startup, in which you intend to collect personal data of users and do not want to have legal problems and fall under the financial sanctions of the GDPR;
- You want to know what your rights for protection of your personal data are and how to protect them.
To participate in the Winter School, you have to register until February 3.
Students will be selected on a competitive basis. Students will be notified of the selection results till February 5.
Students have the opportunity to receive 4 ECTS credits, which can be recalculated according to the appropriate courses. The condition for obtaining a certificate is that the student attends at least 80% of classes and downloads individual written work, the passing score for which is 40%, until February 19, 2021.
Classes will be conducted by project participants.
Also there will be master classes, workshops and practical classes with guest speakers from leading IT companies in Ukraine to study the principles of Big Data, machine learning, data analytics and visualization, and data security.
