This year marks the 75th anniversary of the coordination superstructure of Ukrainian organizations in European countries – the European Congress of Ukrainians (ECU). Therefore, the International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations, Lviv Polytechnic National University, is organizing an offline meeting-dialogue with the leaders of ECU on May 16, 2024.
During the event, participants will have a unique opportunity:
- to communicate with the leaders of the famous Ukrainian organization;
- to plunge into history and meet past and present leaders of the ECU;
- to learn about the strengths and weaknesses of the organization, about the pressure and influence on European politicians, and about the responses to the challenges that wartime life posed to the organization.
The European Congress of Ukrainians will be represented by:
- Bohdan Rajcinec – president of ECU, head of the organization «Ukrainian Initiative in the Czech Republic»;
- Zenon Koval, member of the executive board of ECU, member of the Board of Directors of the Ukrainian World Congress, political advisor of the Society of Ukrainians in Belgium;
- Viktor Bandurchyn, secretary of the ECU, deputy head of the Union of Ruthenians-Ukrainians of the Slovak Republic;
- Roman Mykytenko, member of the executive board of ECU, Vice-President of the Ukrainian World Congress in Northern Europe, deputy chairman of the Coordinating Council of the Association of Ukrainians of Denmark;
- Halyna Masliuk, member of ECU, head of the Society of the Association of the Ukrainian Diaspora in Greece «Hellenic-Ukrainian Thought».
The venue of the event is the Assembly Hall of the main building of Lviv Polytechnic (12. Bandery St.). The event starts at 13:30.
