On December 6, 2023, on the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the formation of the Aviation Division of the Ukrainian Galician Army, the International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations, Lviv Polytechnic National University, together with the Franko Museum invites you to an intellectual discussion «Wings of Ukraine» and the presentation of the mobile exhibition «Petro Franko: the return from/of the legend».
- What do we know about the role of Ivan Franko’s youngest son in the creation of the Galician aviation?
- What does Petro Franko, a graduate of Lviv Polytechnic, a researcher, a military pilot, a plast member, an athlete, a writer and a pedagogue, teach us with his life and dedication to Ukraine?
- How does history help us understand the modern war in Ukraine and why should there be no alternatives to Ukraine’s victory over the Russian aggressor?
Nataliia Tykholoz, director of the Institute of Franko Studies of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, researcher of Franko, scientific consultant and curator of the exhibition «Petro Franko: Return from/of the Legend», and Petro Chernyk, a well-known military analyst, reserve colonel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, will take part in the intellectual discussion.
Political scientists, historians, journalists and everyone who wants to learn about significant pages and figures from the history and modernity of Ukraine are invited to the meeting.
The venue is the Assembly Hall of the main building of Lviv Polytechnic National University (12 Bandery St.). The event starts at 12:00.
