The Symposium «Cooperation of NGOs with local authorities to advocate for Ukrainian military migrants in the Visegrad Group countries» will be held in Zachariewicz Hall (room 214) in the main building of Lviv Polytechnic National University on 26 November 2024.
At the event there will be presented the results of the project «Best Practices of Cooperation between NGOs and Local Authorities to Advocate for Ukrainian Military Migrants», which was implemented with the support of the International Visegrad Fund in partnership with the International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations, Lviv Polytechnic, and NGOs Ukrainian Initiative in the Czech Republic, Uniters Foundation, Uniters in Poland, and the Union of Ruthenian-Ukrainians of the Slovak Republic.
Discussing and analysing the effectiveness of practices implemented in the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine will be useful for dissemination, study, adaptation and further implementation in other EU countries.
According to Iryna Kliuchkovska, the project coordinator, this experience will also be useful for implementation in Ukraine, in particular for NGOs that help internally displaced persons, the number of who is not decreasing.
The event will be attended by representatives of:
- NGOs from the Visegrad Group countries;
- Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Lviv (by agreement);
- Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Lviv (by agreement);
- Consulate General of the Slovak Republic (by agreement);
- local self-government bodies and the public sector;
as well as academics and researchers.
