5th All-Ukrainian student competition for the Serhiy Kemsky Award, named after a Hero of the Heavenly Hundred

Applications for participation in the 5th All-Ukrainian competition of student research papers on the Revolution of Dignity for the Serhiy Kemsky Award named after the Hero of the Heavenly Hundred are being accepted. The competition encourages students of higher education institutions of all majors to research the Revolution of Dignity, study its history, peculiarities, achievements, significance and impact on various spheres of political, social and cultural life.

The competition is open to students (bachelors, masters and postgraduate students) both individually and as co-authors, but not more than two people. The works must be written in Ukrainian and not be awarded in other competitions.

The competition for the Serhiy Kemsky Award is held in two stages.

  1. The applications must be submitted until 1 February 2025. The jury consists of researchers, academic staff, representatives of charitable and public organisations, as well as other persons with the appropriate professional level. The jury will review the submitted applications with abstracts, and the participants selected for the second stage will be notified by 1 March.
  2. The second stage is the submission of research papers to the jury. Applicants have to submit their research papers until 31 July 2025. The jury will then evaluate the papers and determine the winners.

The winners of the 5th All-Ukrainian student competition for the Serhiy Kemsky Award named after a Hero of the Heavenly Hundred will be announced in autumn 2025. The winners will receive, among other things, diplomas and cash prizes:

  • UAH 15,000 for the first place;
  • UAH 7,000 for the second place;
  • UAH 4,000 for the third place.

The Serhiy Kemsky Award was initiated by the National Memorial Complex of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes – Museum of the Revolution of Dignity and the NGO The Family of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes as part of the overall project Heroes’ Awards.
