During the past week, the Department of Marketing and Logistics, the Institute of Economics and Management, Lviv Polytechnic, organized different events as part of the annual Supply Chain Day.
On this day, in various European countries, the logistics community opens its doors to the general public to learn about activities in the field of logistics and supply chain management. Business demonstrates its innovations, scientific institutes present research projects, and educational institutions – courses, training programs and educational projects.
The faculty of the Department of Marketing and Logistics, Lviv Polytechnic National University, organized:
- logistics quest;
- business games;
- excursions.
The motto of the event is Growth through Logistics.
Students majoring in Logistics and 2nd-year students of various Lviv Polytechnic Institutes who study the discipline «Logistics and supply chain management: dissemination of European experience» took part in the events.
90 participants were involved in the logistics quest, organized on April 20 by Associate Professor Nataliia Chornopyska. At several locations near Lviv Polytechnic National University, students received questions about the area, history, science, and logistics and thanks to teamwork found answers. According to the students’ feedback, they really liked the quest: «interactive approach and good presentation», «developmental tasks are well organized and well thought out», «interesting, fun and informative», «special impressions and interesting route», «an incredible opportunity to learn something useful», «I want more quests», etc.
Associate Professors Nataliia Chornopyska, Oksana Dovhun, and Sofiia Leonova conducted several business games for the 2nd-4th-year students: «Improving production», «Business on the move», «Application of the theory of constraints in the production process», and «Making pizza». Games are useful and exciting because they improve teamwork skills, help to learn theory, understand processes and find optimization solutions. Students showed their knowledge and creativity to the best of their ability, they liked the games.
3rd-4th-year students with senior teacher Oksana Kobyliukh visited the Lviv Brewery. It was very interesting, because visitors saw all stages of production. The company belongs to those unique enterprises that have collected modern technologies and tools of management and logistics. Many thanks for the tour to the leading personnel specialist Oksana Snezhynska and the director of the Lviv Brewery branch of PJSC «Carlsberg Ukraine» Bohdan Bilanchuk.
