Training for educators and school administrations who applied to participate in the project «Moodle is pro100!» will start soon in Lviv region. The project aims to create one digital environment for educational institutions.
The project which encompasses 100 educational institutions was launched at the end of March. Each of these schools will receive its own copy of the distance platform and will be able to post all educational information there.
– At the request of the Department of Education, we conducted training on basics of distance learning for more than 1,300 teachers. This was done not only to adapt the learning process to new conditions, but also to help teachers understand how to choose tools for teaching, how to choose material, how to organize interaction with students online and how to monitor and get results from learning process. We also trained platform administrators and the management of institutions to organize the educational process, said Marharyta Noskova, Director of the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies, Institute of Jurisprudence, Psychology and Innovative Education, Lviv Polytechnic.
According to the Director of the Center, it is worth building a new model of learning that will be flexible, convenient and effective for pupils. Children should receive quality and accessible knowledge, regardless of location. And the teacher must be able to use the full range of educational materials.
– For a long time we have been thinking which platform to choose and recommend to educational institutions for the organization of one educational environment. We have been talking about such an environment for a long time. But we felt the real need for it only with the beginning of the pandemic. No one in Ukraine was ready for such challenges last spring. We chose the Moodle platform. At the end of March a project which encompasses 100 educational institutions was launched. And in two weeks there will be training for teachers to master this environment, emphasized Marharyta Noskova.
This year, Lviv region will also be one of the first to implement the European project SELFIE (Self-reflection on Effective Learning by Fostering the Use of Innovative Educational Technologies). This is a platform that allows the educational institution to analyze its digital transformations. That is, to assess how ready the educational institution is for transformation.
