During June-October 2018, Svitlana Semchyshyn, Assistant of the Department of International Information, Candidate of Political Sciences, representative of the Ombudsperson of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights in the western regions, was trained within the framework of a joint course of the National Association of Advocates of Ukraine and the Council of Europe under the European Programme on Human Rights Education for Legal Professionals (the HELP Programme of the Council of Europe) – Accession to the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.
The training aimed to enhance the skills and competences of legal professionals in the context of application of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms in their daily work. The course was based on the HELP programme methodology of distance education teaching.
