Associate professors at the Department of Philosophy Oksana Onyshchuk and Olesia Pankiv received a grant from the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies at the University of Alberta, Canada.
The researchers plan to implement the project on “Philosophical and theological ideas in the legacy of Professor V. Pevnytskyi from the Kyiv Theological Academy”. They will work with archival sources in Kyiv. The results of their studies Oksana Onyshchuk and Olesia Pankiv will write in the articles for Canadian and Ukrainian professional publications.
Vasyl Pevnytskyi (1832–1911), a graduate and academic at the Kyiv Theological Academy, was a homilete, pastorologist, pedagogue, religious publicist, public activist, memoirist, philosopher and theologian, who is still insufficiently known to the public. His theological-philosophical and historical-philosophical studies of the Middle Ages and the Reformation are worth to be popularized and included to the theological and historical-philosophical discourses of Ukraine.
