Big Data and EU Data Protection Winter School, organized within the framework of the international educational project Erasmus+ Jean Monnet «Data Protection in EU» (No. 611692-EPP-1–2019–1-UA-EPPJMO-MODULE) has completed its work at Lviv Polytechnic.
During the winter holidays, about 50 students from the Institute of Computer Science and Information Technologies had the opportunity to hear speeches by professionals on Personal Data Protection, Big Data, Data Science, Machine Learning, Databases and Data Warehouses.
Experts from leading IT companies – Olena Vynokurova and Dmytro Peleshko (Geoguard), Marian Fediv (EPAM Systems), Vitalii Miroshnychenko and Pavlo Kharchyshyn (GlobalLogic), Volodymyr Voityshyn (Eleks) – told about the peculiarities of working with personal data in real projects and shared their experiences and interesting cases. Interesting and interactive workshops completely captivated the participants, giving them the opportunity to solve real-time data processing and analysis tasks, assess risks and prevent data leaks.
Students showed great interest in the speech by Dr. Beryl Jones, Kingston University London. She not only deepened the students’ knowledge of database protection, demonstrated her own teaching methods, but also created an excellent opportunity for students to improve their English.
