For several years now, the Cisco Academy Instructor Training Center, Lviv Polytechnic National University, has been an active member of the organizing committees of many short-term and long-term all-Ukrainian initiatives of our long-term partner Cisco. These initiatives are aimed at raising awareness and improving the competencies of pupils, teachers, students and academics in the field of Information Technology, Cybersecurity and the Internet of Things.
On March 15, 2021, the main stage of the Safer Internet Day Challenge 2021 officially ended. This year the Cisco Academy Instructor Training Center, Lviv Polytechnic, supported four oblasts: Lviv, Volyn, Rivne and Zakarpattia. So, we can summarize the results:
- almost 3,000 participants (students of schools, gymnasiums, lyceums and colleges as well as their teachers) were involved;
- about 80 educational institutions (schools, lyceums, gymnasiums, vocational schools and colleges) were involved;
- more than 1250 pupils and students passed the finals and received the relevant certificates;
- more than 250 participants mastered the course «Introduction to Cybersecurity», successfully passed the final testing and received digital badges;
- more than 1,000 participants continue to master the course «Introduction to Cybersecurity».
It is gratifying that two educational institutions of our region are in the top twenty in Ukraine by the number of students involved:
- Professional College of Infocommunications, Lviv Polytechnic National University;
- Lviv Lyceum, Lviv City Council.
About 100 students from each of these two institution took part in the initiative.
