Another modern sports complex will soon appear at Lviv Polytechnic. Project financing is implemented under an investment agreement. On the territory of the multifunctional sports complex there will be two futsal fields with synthetic turf, playgrounds for playing basketball and handball, a field for volleyball and tennis courts.
– We hope that by the beginning of the academic year we will be able to open a sports complex on 4 Lukash Street. It will be operating for the campus. Mostly the sports complex will host classes. The main idea is to let students spend there their free time, – says Volodymyr Kraiovskyi, Vice-Rector for Training and Production.
The next stage of the sports complex construction is the installation of ancillary facilities, showers and bathrooms. The playgrounds will also be equipped with an entrance for people with disabilities. The sports complex will be equipped with high quality equipment to make study comfortable and accessible.
The Vice-Rector informed that the construction project of ancillary facilities is currently being considered by Lviv City Council. In order to implement it, it is necessary to obtain urban conditions and restrictions. If the facility is put into operation this year, students will not be able to use the ancillary facilities.
Volodymyr Kraiovskyi also noted that the opening of the sports complex depends on the pace of construction. The project still needs to be finished.
– Of course, this sports infrastructure is not enough for all Polytechnic students. Therefore, in the future we plan to start the reconstruction and modernization of sports rooms in dormitories, – says the Vice-Rector.
The construction of a new place for sports united Polytechnic. Issues regarding the state and prospects of sports infrastructure development will be reviewed at the meeting of the University Academic Board on March 22, 2022.
