The Fifth Science Fair at Lviv Polytechnic was particularly vivid and multifaceted. It was Friday, wonderful warm weather and visitors who wished to see and hear as much as possible, and where it is possible to try and experiment. And there was really lots of things to see. After all, each Institute of our University has unique developments, which you will not find in other Lviv universities.
The event started with quite a serious topic – «Changing the role of university in modern society». This roundtable discussion gathered academics, teachers from different education institutions, as well as guests from abroad. Two hours lasted lively discussions about what education and higher education in particular should be like.
Afterwards there was the solemn opening of the Science Fair with traditional muses of leading Sciences in Polytechnic and the founder of our university.
This year, visitors were presented various achievements and developments of Polytechnic Institutes in more than 30 locations. Within several hours it was possible to see different sides of one of the oldest universities in Ukraine, in particular, going to an excursion to the most attractive places in Polytechnic and the most innovative laboratories built by leading world companies. Visitors could also get acquainted with practical scientific developments – from pharmaceutics and cosmetology, software to mobile robots and robots-manipulators. All this could not only be examined, but tested as well.
Visitors also listened to professional advice at trainings «Creativity Development: Learn to Search for Ideas» and «Success Can Be Planned».
The entertaining program was also varied: an extreme show, a quest and interesting tests, a performance «Thrice love came to me» by Khochu (I Do Want) Theatrical Studio, as well as a competition of drawings on the asphalt, a painting of honey cakes, master classes on Easter eggs, restoration of stone wares and much more.
