On February 17, 2021, there was a defense of master’s theses by students of the Institute of Geodesy, Lviv Polytechnic National University, who are studying under a double degree program at the Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences, Germany.
This is the fifth defense of master’s theses by our students in Germany in accordance with the agreement signed between the two universities. Due to the COVID19 pandemic, the defense took place in the form of an online meeting. The examination commission consisted of five professors from the University of Applied Sciences and five professors from the Institute of Geodesy. Professor Nataliia Hots , Head of the Center for International Education, Lviv Polytechnic National University, and Professor Kornylii Tretiak, Director of the Institute of Geodesy, took part in the event.
Three groups of students of the Institute of Geodesy who are studying or going to study under the double degree program also attended the defense, in online and offline formats.
4 master’s theses were submitted for defense. The work of Myroslava Biala was recognized as the best, and the commission recommended it to be published in a category A journal.
The defenses took place in the form of a presentation and discussion in English and German, each work was given 1 hour.
The defense ended with a speech by the Director of the Institute of Geodesy, Professor Kornylii Tretiak, and his Deputy Director for Scientific and International Activity, Professor Ihor Trevoho. They stressed the importance of the double degree program, which significantly affects the development of geodetic education and science in both countries.
