On October 10, the Department of Management and International Business held an open lecture on the Zoom platform. The guest lecturer was Giuseppe Granata, a representative of the Universitas Mercatorum in Rome, Italy, Doctor of Economics, Associate Professor at the Department of Business Management and Marketing, Scientific Supervisor of the MBA in International Business, Marketing Director of the Consortium for the Internationalization and Development of Small and Medium Enterprises, member of the Italian Society of Management (SIMA), and member of the Accademia Italiana di Economic Aziendale (AIDEA).
Professor Oleh Kuzmin, Doctor of Economics, Director of the Institute of Economics and Management (IEM), and Professor Nataliia Stanasiuk, Deputy Director of IEM for International Relations, Doctor of Economics, addressed the participants with welcome speeches. They sincerely expressed their gratitude for organizing the event as well as hope and belief in close cooperation in the future. Professor Liana Chernobai, Doctor of Economics, Acting Head of the Department of Management and International Business, also made a speech, emphasizing the importance of conducting these lectures and the relevance of the cycle topic.
The theme of the first lecture is «How to analyze the attractiveness of a foreign market», which is part of the cycle called «International strategies for managing SME». More than 70 people from both sides attended the first session. There were teachers and students of the Department of Management and International Business, and teachers and students of the Universitas Mercatorum in Rome. The lecture was held in Italian with a Ukrainian translation by Orest Vasylko, head of the Leonardo da Vinci Center for Italian-Ukrainian Cooperation, Lviv Polytechnic.
The lecture dealt with following issues:
- strategies and peculiarities of the development of small and medium-sized enterprises;
- the method of analyzing the attractiveness of international commodity markets under different conditions;
- justification of methods for assessing the attractiveness of foreign markets during the conduct and analysis of marketing research;
- peculiarities of market cooperation between Italy and Ukraine in recent years.
At the end of the lecture, Giuseppe Granata emphasized the importance of analysis, planning and study in the country with which further cooperation will take place and how it will affect the overall result.
Also, students of the Department of Management and International Business had the opportunity to ask questions to the lecturer Giuseppe Granata and the students of the Universitas Mercatorum, to discuss not only the issues that were dealt with at the lecture, but also to learn about the educational process, conditions of study, opportunities and peculiarities for students studying in Italy.
