In 2024, with the support of international partners Tech StartUp School, Lviv Polytechnic National University, implemented four major projects to support and develop entrepreneurship.
DISCO: Developing Innovative Sustainable Cooperation Opportunities
The aim of the project was to promote the development of innovation and entrepreneurship skills across the knowledge triangle: through student training, advisory and coaching support for start-ups and business expansion as well as structured capacity building of the scientific and non-scientific staff of the project partners themselves.
In 2023–2024, the project team has achieved the following results:
- mentoring support was provided to 1000 students and 150 academic and non-academic staff of higher education institutions, 30 start-ups and 5 businesses;
- 6 innovation laboratories and 1 massive open online course were created;
- 60 academic and non-academic staff were involved in the consortium.
The project was implemented with the support of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology.
Craftsmanship, Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the Chervonohrad Coal Microregion
This is a project aimed at developing creative and entrepreneurial activity in the district. The aim was to create a favourable environment for the development of business ideas, training programs and mentoring suppport.
During the project implementation:
- 8 educational courses were developed;
- more than 500 participants were involved;
- a Manufacturers and Entrepreneurship Forum, hackathons, and a Career Fair were held;
- funding was raised for the development of business projects of 14 participants;
- 1 FabLab space was created;
- 20 public transport vehicles were equipped with green technologies to support hybrid public transport.
The project is implemented jointly with the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action with the support of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH as part of the project Just Transition & Green Energy Sector Recovery Ukraine.
UK-RAIN-A 2.0 – a project to provide mentoring and coaching support to vulnerable populations in Lviv region
The project’s mission is the economic and infrastructural development of territorial communities in Lviv region, taking into account the needs of vulnerable groups.
Results:
- 220 participants;
- 20 experts;
- 2 interactive bootcamps;
- 12 project winners received grant equipment to scale their business projects.
The project is implemented with the support of the Press, Education and Culture Section of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine.
GIST: iHubs – an educational project to develop entrepreneurship among students and youth
As part of the course, participants studied the basics of testing business ideas, analysing the needs of the target audience, creating a value proposition and pitching.
This year, more than 200 students joined the course.
The project was implemented with the support of the GIST Net: Global Innovation through Science and Technology initiative.
