The graduate of Lviv Automobile and Road College of Lviv Polytechnic National University Serhii Makarevych won the silver medal in the 2019 World Cup, held in the French Nîmes.
In the tournament Makarevych under No. 28, defeated American Brady Ellison, the holder of three Olympic medals and the five-time winner of World Cup finals, and Dutchman Jonah Wilthagen.
In the semi-final, the Ukrainian was the only archer not from South Korea and defeated Han Jaeyeop in five sets – 7:3. In the final, the Ukrainian competed with Lee Seungyun, the team champion of the Olympic Games and the world champion, losing in 4 sets – 2:6.
As a result, Serhii Makarevych won the first World Cup medal in his career – silver.
