Annually, several graduates and students of the Department of Political Science and International Relations, the Institute of the Humanities and Social Sciences, win the scholarship competition to study at higher education institutions abroad. The Department liaises with its alumni and asks them to share their impressions of studying abroad and to evaluate the acquired knowledge and skills during their studies at Lviv Polytechnic National University.
This time, the graduates who are currently continuing their studies in Spain, shared their thoughts.
Kateryna Perepelytsia, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Political Science:
– Now we are also studying remotely. I often remember our Department, Lviv Polytechnic and academic staff. Now I understand that a number of subjects that I studied for my Bachelor’s degree, which, at first glance, did not seem to be very necessary, are now important for a complete knowledge and understanding of modern international processes. So I draw on the knowledge gained... I also want to say that I am satisfied with the knowledge and skills acquired during my studies at the Department of Political Science and International Relations, Lviv Polytechnic National University, and I recommend entrants to choose this University and the Department of Political Science and International Relations.
Yevhen Butkovskyi, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, International Studies on Media and Power:
– In 2019 I received my Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations, speciality International Relations, Public Communication and Regional Studies and applied for a scholarship competition to study in Spain. I was lucky, and now I’m continuing my studies here. This year I have already completed my studies. Due to quarantine, we are forced to stay home. As for the differences I have seen here, the academic staff in Spain is somewhat closer to students, and they focus not on grades, but on understanding the material. Our students often focus on assessment, and academic staff, in its turn, tries to use grades as means of encouragement. Overall, I am pleased with the knowledge I received at the Department of Political Science and International Relations.
