On December 7–8, 2020, the International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations, Lviv Polytechnic National University, supported the initiative of the Department of Education and Science of Lviv Regional State Administration and held the International Online Conference on Ukrainian-Polish Interlingual, Intercultural and Educational Relations. The Lviv Regional Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education also joined its organization.
Oleh Matviikiv, First Vice-Rector, Lviv Polytechnic National University, Roman Pastushenko, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Science, Lviv Regional State Administration, and Iryna Kliuchkovska, Director of the International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations, addressed the participants of the conference, which brought together scholars and educators from Ukraine and Poland.
The conference, organized by the IECDR, started on December 7, 2020. The event was moderated by Iryna Kliuchkovska and Oksana Trumko.
As a result of the first day of the International Conference on Ukrainian-Polish Interlingual, Intercultural and Educational Relations it became clear that Ukrainian educational institutions in Poland need not only methodological and material support from intergovernmental organizations, but also legislative support from Ukraine. Scholars and educators from both countries agreed to restore the lost and establish new Polish-Ukrainian educational, linguistic and cultural cooperation.
The next day, December 8, the conference continued its work. This time its organizers were employees of the Lviv Regional Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education.
