The Lviv Polytechnic Admissions Committee has published the Rules for Admission to the University in 2025, which contain innovations.

Continuing the revolution in education

Applicants for contract form of study can receive grants – financial support from the state – through Diia. It will partially cover the cost of education.

The amount of the grant depends on the results of the National Multisubject Test (NMT) and the coefficient of the major.

The biggest peculiarity

The Executive Secretary of Lviv Polytechnic Admissions Committee, Doctor of Economics, Professor Roman Shuliar, informed the Centre for Communication during his interview:

– Applicants for bachelor’s degree should take into account the possibility of getting a grant. In order to get it this year, applicants must indicate their priority in their applications, whether they are applying for a state-funded or commercial form of education. There are 15 such applications in total. Last year, there were five.

On 6 August, applicants will receive a recommendation for a state-funded or commercial form of study based on applications with priorities. The determining factors for receiving this recommendation will be the competition scores, priorities and the licensed volume of competition proposals – the number of places at the University for a particular study program.

Know-how of the Ministry of Education

This year, for the first time, the Unified State Qualification Exam (USQE) was introduced for applicants for a master’s degree in nuclear energy. The exam will be taken at the end of the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education and will be used to enter the master’s program.

You do not need to take this exam twice. The only other exam you will need to pass is the Unified Entrance Examination (EVI) in a foreign language and test of general academic competence (TZNK).

This year, there is no opportunity for PhD candidates to enter full-time studies based on contract form. They can get enrolled only at state expense to state places and will have the opportunity to participate in the competition under the following conditions: they must score 150 points in each subject. The components of this test are EVI in a foreign language and TZNK.

Another innovation is the video recording of all creative competitions and its publication on our website for the public throughout the year. Additionally, the impersonal (i.e., without surnames) works of the applicants’ creativity – paintings, drawings, etc. – will be photographed and published during the year as well.

This is also the know-how of the Ministry of Education. Its purpose is to fight for integrity.

Other know-how, such as the introduction of additional exams using ZNO technology, is, from the Ministry of Education’s point of view, a fight for the quality of graduates. According to the Deputy Minister of Education and Science Mykhailo Vynnytskyi, it is an additional barrier to ensure that an applicant comes to university not only to have something in his ear, but also to ensure that nothing comes out of the other ear. This is an additional external, so to speak, stage of checking the quality of knowledge and preparing applicants for the next level of education.
