The Project Office, Lviv Polytechnic National University, offers to the University researchers the ERC Starting Grant from the European Research Council for 2023. It is intended to support ambitious young scientists at the stage of their career when they start their own independent scientific research group or program. In order to receive a grant, the principal researcher (coordinator) must show innovative character, ambitions and the available potential to implement the proposed scientific project.
The grant offers:
- 1.5 million euros for a period of 5 years;
- the funds can be used to carry out scientific research work in your HEI and to create your own team of researchers with European salaries;
- an additional 1 million euros can be provided for the purchase of valuable equipment for the project or access to the existing scientific and technical infrastructure.
Requirements for the applicant:
- the academic degree of Candidate of Sciences or Doctor of Philosophy;
- the academic degree must be obtained between January 1, 2016 and December 31, 2020;
- the principal researcher of the Initial Grant must demonstrate the potential for scientific independence, for example by preparing at least one major publication as the lead author or without the involvement of a supervisor;
- to have significant achievements in the scientific field of the grant, a list of articles (as the main author) in major international peer-reviewed interdisciplinary scientific journals, or significant publications in leading international peer-reviewed journals in the relevant field, or scientific monographs;
- to present a list of reports at well-known international conferences, issued patents, awards, prizes or any other scientific achievements that are relevant to their field of research and project.
