On May 5, 2017, members of Lviv Polytechnic Students and PhD Students Union visited the Ukrainian Government Building, where they had a meeting with Stepan Kubiv, First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine.
The students gave brought a letter to the First Vice Prime Minister, which contains the problematic issues of scholarship reform. The meeting was very lengthy and productive, since there were a lot of questions.
Stepan Kubiv, who has been co-operating with students for many years and has proven the sincerity of his intentions on numerous occasions, on his part, assured students that the issues discussed by Lviv Polytechnic Students and PhD Students Union members are among his priorities and they have to be addressed, since scholarship nowadays is not a luxury but a social component essential for students.
They also discussed the economy of our country and prospects for its development, the opportunities for students to undergo internship in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
The students also had a chance to talk to Viktor Yushchenko, President of Ukraine (2005 – 2010). They discussed the problem of national identity, a rather relevant issue nowadays, and referred to the origins of Ukrainian state.
