On September 11, 2021, at the invitation of the Ukrainian Educational Foundation, Lviv Polytechnic National University joined the international children’s social project «City of Professions» in Lviv. This unique social event is aimed at immersing children in the world of professions and helping them choose their favorite jobs in the future.
The event took place in Ivan Franko Park. On this day, the children had the opportunity to learn about the peculiarities of the work of a forensic expert on a polygraph, and about the work of a psychologist. Those interested could also tried to be an ecologist – they took part in measuring the amount of nitrates in vegetables and fruits and joined the environmental patrol. The profession of a welder aroused great interest among children. Young welders wrote their names on a metal surface with the help of an electric discharge, used ultrasound to measure the wall thickness of metal products, and determined the hardness of the metal.
After a short master class, the young Polytechnicians «got a job» and received an entry in their professional «passport» about what they learned from our colleagues.
