Five lecturers of Lviv Polytechnic National University have recently returned from their ten-day studies in London. The main purpose of the trip, which took place within the framework of the Creative Spark grant, is study and development of a course program for startups development in Ukraine.
– The whole training was conducted in a very interesting format – the show. We plan to transfer the experience gained to Lviv Polytechnic National University and Tech StartUp School. In a few days, four British lecturers will come to us and from February 8 to 10, they will teach the youth how to develop their own ideas and startups, says Director of Tech StartUp School Professor Nazarii Podolchak.
Polytechnicians also met with representatives of one of the world’s largest venture capital firms – SOS Ventures. In the spring they will come to Tech StartUp School to demo-days of startups presentation.
In addition, the lecturers had an opportunity to take part in the round table «Real Changes In Ukraine. Future Leaders», where Sviatoslav Vakarchuk, a well-known Ukrainian singer and public activist, made a statement that he would go into big politics, although would not take part in presidential election. That is, he forms a team to participate in political life, but makes no claim to be a president.
– Shortly thereafter, the Institute of Administration and Postgraduate Education of Lviv Polytechnic will launch the course «Technology of Startups Development» in English. Also, we will do a specialized course for pre-accelerating stage of startups. We plan to include about 20 universities. That is, at least 500 students will study under this program. Teachers will go to these cities, except for front-line ones, such as Mariupol, for example. From there, we will invite students to the nearest cities, where we will teach – in Odesa, Mykolaiv or Lviv. The study is free. British lecturers and we expect the ideas to meet the requirements of the English market and be interesting to their investors, added Mr. Podolchak.
