The main results of the admission campaign 2021, rankings of specialties and Higher Education Institutions. These and other issues were discussed at the online briefing of Serhiy Shkarlet, the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, on the topic «Preliminary results of the admission campaign 2021».
The main stage of the admission campaign has now been completed. The enrollment in a Bachelor’s program (the government-funded places) for the former 11th grade students took place on August 9. More than 1.4 million electronic applications were submitted to professional higher education institutions.
More than 1 million e-applications have been registered for Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees based on complete general secondary education. Almost 164,000 entrants submitted electronic applications through the USEDE system. Most applications are for law, management, humanitarian and IT specialties.
166,778 e-applications and 12,217 paper applications were registered for a Master’s degree on the basis of a higher education degree. As of August 16, 2021, 33,549 entrants were enrolled in the government-funded places and 20,289 in the contract form of study.
In the ranking of higher education institutions by the number of applications submitted by entrants (on the basis of complete general secondary education), the first places are occupied by:
- Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv – 54,387 applications;
- Ivan Franko National University of Lviv – 47,326 applications;
- National Technical University of Ukraine «Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute» – 46,288 applications;
- National Aviation University – 39,537 applications;
- Lviv Polytechnic National University – 37,571 applications.
The top five universities in the ranking by the recommendations provided for the government-funded places are:
- National Technical University of Ukraine «Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute» – 4,111 recommendations;
- Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv – 3,250 recommendations;
- Lviv Polytechnic National University – 2,728 recommendations;
- Ivan Franko National University of Lviv – 2,625 recommendations;
- National Aviation University – 1,429 recommendations.
At the same time, Serhii Shkarlet emphasized that these are not final figures; In particular, enrollment in the contract form of study will last until November 30. And in September there will be an additional enrollment for government-funded places for specialties that are provided with special support.
