On April 16, 2019, in the Assembly Hall of Lviv Polytechnic National University, there was a meeting with Ukrainian conductor of world glory Oksana Lyniv «…To the Stars», organized by the International Institute of Education, Culture and Diaspora Relations. Polytechnic academic community and Lviv community had the opportunity to communicate with the outstanding personality – the main conductor of the Graz Opera (Austria), art director and conductor of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, co-founder and art director of the LvivMozArt Festival, a talented Ukrainian who, with all her professionalism, promotes the good name of Ukraine abroad and popularize her native culture in the world.
In Lviv Polytechnic Oksana Lyniv was met with a big round of applause. IECDR Director Iryna Kliuchkovska introduced the distinguished guest and noted that Technical Sciences and Arts naturally interweave at the University. Thus you can often hear classical music in the corridors and lobby of our institution performed by the chamber, symphony or concert bands of Lviv Polytechnic.
Yurii Bobalo, the Rector of Lviv Polytechnic National University, presented the flowers to the dear guest, and Polyphonia Chamber Orchestra of Prosvita People’s House performed a musical gift, a piece by Leonard Cohen Hallelujah, which was highly appreciated by Oksana Lyniv.
Afterwards there was a warm and pleasant conversation. Oksana Lyniv frankly answered the questions from Iryna Kliuchkovska, students and academics.
At the end of the meeting, Iryna Kliuchkovska intrigued the audience, saying that «a new project was born: Lviv Polytechnic Symphony Orchestra is preparing, Oksana Lyniv will be conducting». The moderator invited the guest to take part and become the key speaker at the Assembly «Ukrainian women in the World: Professionalism, Activism and Tradition», which takes place on September 2–4, 2019, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the World Federation of Ukrainian Women’s Organizations.
