To honour the memory, civic courage and devotion, strength of spirit, resilience and heroic deeds of soldiers who died in combat missions to protect the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as civilians killed in the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed a Decree on a nationwide minute of silence for the dead.
The document stipulates that a nationwide minute of silence must be held daily at 9:00 a.m., which to be announced in all media, regardless of ownership.
A minute of silence is provided, in particular, in educational institutions.
