A new semester for participants of the Norway-Ukraine project has officially started at Lviv Polytechnic

Yesterday, on September 14, the grand opening of the autumn semester of the project «Retraining and social adaptation of servicemen and members of their families in Ukraine» (Norway – Ukraine project) took place in the Assembly Hall of Lviv Polytechnic National University.

Tetiana Shapovalova, Head of the Norway-Ukraine project at Lviv Polytechnic, noted that this is the 16th such celebration and this time it is special in its own way.

«Firstly, our celebration takes place in a restored Assembly Hall, which with its beauty and history inspires to learn and create. And, secondly, for the first time at Polytechnic we are opening training for veterans and members of their families in three areas at the same time», said Tetiana Shapovalova.

Roman Korzh, Vice-Rector for Education and Social Development, Lviv Polytechnic, Nazar Podolchak, Director of Tech Startup School, Lviv Polytechnic, and Yaryna Turchyn, Director of the Institute of the Humanities and Social Sciences, made welcome speeches at the event.

«Project participants have become part of our large university community. Studying at Lviv Polytechnic is prestigious. Lviv Polytechnic is an institution with a long history, traditions and world name. In addition, no matter what part of the world you have been to, you always meet there Polytechnic graduates. Because there are hundreds of thousands of them», emphasized Yaryna Turchyn and added that each groups of project participants will be taught by different teachers with extensive practical experience and useful knowledge.

Volodymyr Rubtsov, President of the International Foundation for Social Adaptation, Vitalii Zahainyi, Deputy Chairman at the LRSA, Svitlana Tkachuk, Director of the Lviv Center for providing services to combatants and representatives of the Ministry of Veterans’ Affairs and the IT Company also expressed their congratulations.

This semester, several dozen servicemen and members of their families have applied. They will spend three months training by unique methods to eventually gain knowledge and experience for professional retraining or starting their own business.
