The October meeting of the Academic Board dealt with the material and technical base of University for the new academic year, the occupational safety and health, fire safety, the implementation of the dual education system, the evaluation of the work of the Institute of Geodesy, and the formation of a new unit of Lviv Polytechnic.
This time traditional awarding was replaced by the solemn ceremony of diploma awarding to the Honorary Professor of Lviv Polytechnic, Director General of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Erfurt, Professor Gerald Grusser (Thuringia, Germany). This decision was made at the last meeting of the Academic Board on September 27.
– This award is a great honor and joy for me. For many years, with great interest I observe Ukraine’s path to the European community. As Director General of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, I have encouraged about 65,000 companies, that belong to it, to establish cooperation with Ukraine, said Professor Grusser during his speech.
He also spoke about cooperation with Polytechnic, assuring that he is happy to help implement the dual education system at University, which, according to him, would bring Ukraine closer to Europe.
