The National Research Foundation informs: researchers participating in the partnership initiative «International Multilateral Partnership for Resilient Education and Science System in Ukraine» (IMPRESS-U) can receive funding of up to $50,000 per year per project (and $100,000 for two years).
The initiative was launched by the Office of International Science and Engineering (OISE) of the National Science Foundation (NSF) in partnership with:
- the Estonian Research Council (ETAG);
- the Latvian Council of Science;
- the Research Council of Lithuania (LMT);
- Poland’s National Science Centre (NCN);
- the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA);
- the National Research Foundation of Ukraine (NFDU);
- the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NAS);
- the U.S. Office of Naval Research (ONRG).
To support Ukrainian researchers, NAS intends to attract about 1,000,000 dollars from private donors and foundations. There will be 10–15 grants.
With the IMPRESS-U initiative, the National Science Foundation invites visionary, ambitious, high-quality collaborative research proposals that address scientific challenges in any field of science, engineering, or education.
Priority will be given to projects that propose:
- creative ways for enhancing the efficiency and resiliency of international partnerships;
- efficient concepts to prepare an internationally engaged research workforce;
- efficient and significant contributions to build a modern, state-of-the-art research/education/innovation ecosystem in Ukraine.
Each proposal must involve researchers from the United States, Ukraine, and at least one other participating country.
