From August 30 to September 19, 2021, Professor Tereza Astramowicz-Leik and Dr. Tomasz Gajowniczek from the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Poland, are undergoing scientific internships at the Department of Political Science and International Relations, the Institute of the Humanities and Social Sciences, Lviv Polytechnic. Polish professors give lectures to students majoring in "International Relations", participate in scientific seminars at the Department, and share their experience of research work with postgraduate students.
On September 3, Professor Tereza Astramowicz-Leik gave a lecture on human rights. She spoke about the main threats to human rights in modern conditions, stressing that states, international governmental and non-governmental organizations, as well as civil society institutions in Ukraine and Poland have to take more comprehensive approach to their activities. The professor also noted some negative trends: violence against women and children, the problem of poverty, and environmental problems in the modern world.
On September 6, Dr. Tomasz Gajowniczek gave a lecture on e-democracy, talking about Poland's experience in implementing e-democracy, assessing and forecasting the development of e-government, access to public information, e-government at the local and regional levels. Academic staff of the Department of Political Science and Polish researchers also discussed plans for cooperation in 2022, joint research events, including the VII Ukrainian-Polish Scientific Forum, development of a double degree program for students majoring in "International Relations", and the possibility of internships for the faculty of the Department of Political Science and International Relations in Poland.
