On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the famous Ukrainian scenic designer Yevhen Lysyk, a conference dedicated to his work will be held at the end of September.
Viktor Proskuriakov, Head of the Department of Architectural Environment Design, Lviv Polytechnic National University, at the Infoden program on 5 Channel Lviv told about the importance of studying Yevhen Lysyk’s work not only in terms of theater, but also in terms of architecture.
«In recent years there has not been such a person in the scenic design of our national Ukrainian theater. He really is Michelangelo of the Ukrainian scene – a purely Ukrainian artist. During his 60 years of life he had a difficult but very meaningful life. He created 82 opera and ballet monumental canvases for performances. If you collect them all in the form of images 15 by 15 meters, they would completely cover the Rynok Square! This is about 10 hectares of works made by the artist. At the conference we will discuss the importance of Yevhen Lysyk works as well as the influence he had on architects, as his architectonics is recognized all over the world,» said Viktor Proskuriakov.
