On September 13, 2021, on the initiative of the representatives of LLC «Sensor Enterprise «ZAVOD RAPID» – plant that produces radio equipment, converters and sensors in Chernihiv, Lviv Polytechnic held a meeting with researchers of Lviv Polytechnic National University and plant representatives.
Ivan Demydov, Vice-Rector for Scientific Research, Professor Bohdan Strykhaliuk, Director of the Institute of Telecommunications, Radioelectronics and Electronic Engineering, Professor Anatolii Druzhynin, Head of the Department of Semiconductor Electronics, professors of SCE Department Ihor Ostrovskyi, Yurii Khoverko, as well as Oleksii Kutrakov and Stepan Nichkalo attended the meeting.
LLC «Sensor Enterprise «ZAVOD RAPID», which specializes in the development, production and supply of the sensor-converting equipment of a complete sets of measuring systems for space launch vehicles and space objects, was represented by Deputy Director Andrii Tytenok, Chief Constructor Mykola Ohorodnichyi, Deputy Chief Constructor Viacheslav Yelshanskyi, and Leading Constructor Hryhorii Sorva.
The following issues were discussed:
- opportunities for cooperation between Lviv Polytechnic and LLC «Sensor Enterprise «ZAVOD RAPID» for the development, design and serial production of sensors of physical quantities (pressure, temperature, etc.) in Ukraine;
- import substitution of pressure sensors based on semiconductor materials as sensitive elements.
The attention was also focused on the availability and condition of scientific and technical base at the University for the development and manufacture of sensors.
At the meeting, it was decided to start scientific and technical cooperation between Lviv Polytechnic National University and LLC «Sensor Enterprise «ZAVOD RAPID» in the direction of import substitution of pressure sensors based on semiconductor sensing elements using both filamentary silicon crystals and silicon-on-insulator structures. It was agreed to train engineering and scientific personnel for the LLC «Sensor Enterprise «ZAVOD RAPID» and their upskilling at Lviv Polytechnic.
