Under the auspices of the well-known European program Erasmus+, the University of Genoa, Italy, and in cooperation with the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine, Ukrainian and European universities initiated a new project UKRENERGY, which aims to implement an innovative master’s degrees programs on energy efficiency and reducing the carbon footprint in the building stock of Ukraine.
The State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine, prioritizing the application of modern European approaches to improving the quality of higher education and training highly qualified specialists in the field of energy efficiency, began active interaction with the University of Genoa and became the first Ukrainian partner of the project, involving leading Ukrainian universities in its implementation.
The Master’s course will include the creation of modern laboratories and the development of cutting-edge learning material for both engineers and scientists seeking to gain advanced qualifications in the core areas of energy efficiency, building renovation and energy planning.
The University of Genoa and the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli, Italy, as well as the AGH University of Science and Technology, Poland, and the Slovak University of Technology, Slovakia, will implement European practices, knowledge and technologies in Ukraine.
The partners of the project are a number of Ukrainian institutions of higher education, in particular Lviv Polytechnic National University. Ukrainian students will have a unique chance to gain knowledge and qualifications based on modern EU experience, the latest practices and technological base.
The grant agreement for the project was approved by the European Commission. The start of the project is planned in 2023 after the final agreement between the European and Ukrainian partners, the stages of tasks implementation and the spheres of responsibility of all involved partners.
