At the beginning of 2020, Lviv Polytechnic opened the Project Office. The expediency and necessity of its creation have been discussed for a long time. According to the Vice-Rector for International Relations, and until recently – for Scientific Research, Nataliia Chukhrai, the task of the Project Office is to activate Polytechnicians in the project activity, to provide information support and to assist in the projects writing.
– We started actively working on the creation of the Project Office with the first Vice-Rector Oleh Matviikiv and Vice-Rector Nataliia Chukhrai since September last year. At that time, much attention was paid to regulatory documentation. This was a large-scale preparatory work, as there were no such Project Offices in Ukraine. Our Department is a structural unit of Polytechnic, which provides consulting, training and management activities to enhance the preparation of project proposals. We also focus on increasing the University’s project initiatives to bring Polytechnic to the top Ukrainian higher education institutions according to the number of international projects, explained Nazarii Andrushchak, Head of the Project Office, Associate Professor at the Department of Computer-Aided Design, Institute of Computer Science and Information Technologies.
It is envisaged that University employees who are interested in developing their project-writing skills will receive special training, seminars and individual consultations.
In general, the Project Office will operate in three areas: scientific and technical, educational and commercial. The first two are geared towards academics and researchers. But the commercial one will also involve students and postgraduates in technical specialities who are working on interesting developments and would like to get co-financing to launch their product, if they have already developed a prototype.
