Recently, with the participation of distinguished guests, the renovated museum of Khmelnytsky Polytechnic College, Lviv Polytechnic National University, was opened. Its exposition will be interesting to everyone, especially from Podillia, as it clearly reflects the development of the whole region from ancient times to the present.
The creators of the museum renovation organically combined the history of the small settlement of Ploskyriv, which was constantly developing, and the main formation stages of Khmelnytsky Electromechanical Technical School. It was during the rapid industrial rise of the city in the 60s of the last century that there was an urgent need for highly qualified personnel. This was the reason for the creation of an educational institution, which throughout its 55-year history has been a leader in education in Podillia.
The first museum was established in 1980 as a military-historical and museum of the development of Khmelnytsky Electromechanical Technical School. In those days it was one of the best in Podillia, and even today the diorama «Liberation of Proskuriv», which is the highlight of the museum and the city, experts consider unsurpassed.
While renovation specialists expanded the chronological and thematic boundaries of the museum, added interesting exhibits, filled it with modern sound. A collection of weapons and coins donated by the Main Directorate of the National Police in Khmelnytsky Region found its place in the renewed exposition. The Museum of Khmelnytskyi Polytechnic is a real treasure! The exposition of the museum consists of 22 thematic sections, its stock collection includes 130 exhibits, 65 documents, and 287 photographs.
The distinguished guests –creators of the exhibition, artists, local historians, librarians, archivists and law enforcement specialists – attended the opening of the renovated museum. Vadym Ovcharuk, Doctor of Economics, Director of Khmelnytskyi Polytechnic College, Lviv Polytechnic National University, expressed his gratitude to the guests for the high appreciation of the new exhibition and presented Certificates of appreciation to its creators.
A pleasant surprise for Polytechnicians were invitations to closer cooperation with various structures and institutions of the city and region. The gifts from the guests multiplied the stock collection with new exhibits.
