On 16 and 18 December 2024, two webinars were held within the framework of the international Erasmus+ educational project «Connect, Compare and Repair for a Common Future with Ukraine: A Focus on Electrical Engineering Teaching» (CONN’COR). The main organiser of these events was one of the project partners, Bialystok University of Technology.
Representatives of Lviv Polytechnic National University, including Iryna Moroz (coordinator) and Mariana Karkulovska, the Department of General Physics, the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Fundamental Sciences, Oksana Hoholiuk and Ivanna Vasylchyshyn, the Department of Theoretical and General Electrical Engineering, the Institute of Power Engineering and Control Systems, Olha Shymchyshyn, Khrystyna Ivaniuk and Tetiana Bulavinets, the Department of Electronic Engineering, the Institute of Telecommunications, Radioelectronics and Electronic Engineering, attended the webinars. Teams from the Bialystok University of Technology, Poland, the University of Nis, Serbia, and the University of CentraleSupélec, France, also joined the events.
The first webinar, entitled «Coaching Techniques to Support Effective Communication in International Projects», was aimed to showcase coaching as a tool for team collaboration. The organisers spoke in detail about various models and techniques for effective teamwork, which the participants tested in practice. Particular attention was drawn to the role-playing game «Edward de Bono’s Six Hats of Thinking», which allows analysing one problem situation from six independent points of view. The participants also mastered the Dilts Pyramid and the Wheel of Coaching Competencies which helps to assess the key aspects of an individual's life, identify dominant ones and those that need development.
The second webinar was entitled «Creative methods of resolving conflicts between team members». Participants learned about the tools that help to understand and resolve conflicts in teams. The principles of transactional analysis and general approaches to conflict resolution were discussed, including the tortoise, fox, owl, shark and bear strategies. In addition, participants explored team roles and personality colours, which can also be sources of conflict. During the practical part, they used methods of force field analysis and constructive feedback.
After meaningful and fruitful meetings, the results of which will undoubtedly contribute to effective interaction within the project, all participants received certificates of participation.
