On the Day of Unity, February 16, basketball players of Lviv Polytechnic National University played a symbolic basketball match with representatives of other institutions of higher education in the Lviv region. The match, which took place at the Labor Reserves Sports Palace, was attended by 20 students, who took turns replacing each other on the basketball court.
After the symbolic match of unity, the participants of the basketball match lined up with the State Flag and together recorded a video message to fellow athletes: «We are strong! We are one!»
The event was initiated by the Lviv Regional Branch of the Committee on Physical Education and Sports of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Basketball Federation of the Lviv Region and the Department of Physical Education of Lviv Polytechnic National University.
In addition to this event, tomorrow, on February 17, at 10:30 Lviv Polytechnic will hold a round table «Expanding Sports Horizons». Venue – Julian Zachariewicz Hall (room 214) in the main building of the University. The round table will be held with the support of the public organization «Euroregion» Carpathians-Ukraine» of the Lviv Regional Council within the program «Let’s change the country together».
Let us recall that in accordance with the Decree of the President of Ukraine «On Urgent Measures to Consolidate Ukrainian Society» on February 16, 2022, Ukraine celebrates the Day of Unity.
