The Ukrainian Distance Learning School was created immediately after the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine on the initiative of the Department of Education and Science, Lviv Regional Military Administration, together with the Center for Innovative Educational Technologies, the Institute of Jurisprudence, Psychology and Innovative Education, Lviv Polytechnic National University. Its goal is to provide access to quality education to children who were forced to leave their homes because of the war.
The enrollment of students for the 2022/23 academic year was announced on July 26, 2022. Free of charge are invited students of 5–11 grades who are:
- internally displaced persons;
- persons staying in temporarily occupied territories;
- citizens of Ukraine who are abroad due to the war (with supporting documents).
Ukrainian Distance Learning School is:
- licensed distance education institution;
- the best teachers from different parts of Ukraine;
- study under state programs;
- in-depth study of foreign languages, mathematics, physics, chemistry and history is provided;
- study for non-residents;
- document on education of the state model.
In the 2021/22 academic year, the School had almost 800 students, who were taught by 75 educators from different regions of Ukraine.
