On April 11, 2019, in the main building of Lviv Polytechnic National University, there was a solemn launch of the pilot project Volunteering Support for Witnesses with the support of the European Union Advisory Mission Ukraine.
Volodymyr Ortynskyi, Director of the Institute of Jurisprudence and Psychology at Lviv Polytechnic, addressed the Project guests, volunteers and academics.
Roelof Van Uije, EUAM’s Regional Coordinator in Lviv, shared his hopes regarding the successful development of the pilot project. Tron Gundersen, District Court Judge of Moss (Østfold county, Norway), shared the Norwegian experience of supporting witnesses at court with volunteers and academics of IJPS and also suggested to watch several videos from a similar Norwegian project that made it possible to understand the essence and the purpose of the pilot project.
Marcus Rolofs, Adviser on the Rule of Law at the EU Advisory Mission Ukraine, said the last words, wishing the participants of the pilot project Volunteering Support for Witnesses inspiration and success.
After the solemn launch of the Pilot Project with the support of the European Union Advisory Mission Ukraine, guests and volunteers were invited to an excursion to Lviv Polytechnic National University, as well as to a brief training – discussion on the videos of project implementation in Norway.
