From October 16 to 18, 2024, Lviv Polytechnic hosted the 8th International Congress «Environment Protection. Energy Saving. Sustainable Environmental Management». This event has become an important platform for the exchange of ideas, discussions and the search for solutions in the field of modern environmental management and technologies that contribute to environmental, economic and social development.
The International Congress brought together leading scientists, teachers, postgraduates, students, as well as representatives of enterprises and organisations interested in addressing sustainable development issues. Its main goal was to facilitate meetings and cooperation between specialists in all fields of sustainable development: environmental, economic and social. The Congress provided an opportunity to discuss new ideas and approaches to help preserve biodiversity, develop the latest environmental technologies and promote energy-saving solutions in various industries.
The Congress included several roundtables dedicated to Erasmus+ educational projects. One of the important platforms for discussion was the CLIMAN project roundtable, which discussed the adaptation of environmental technologies to climate change. Another roundtable within the ClimEd project was dedicated to the impact of climate change on biodiversity conservation and the use of zonal agricultural technologies.
The event was held in a mixed format, which made it possible to attract not only Ukrainian scientists and students, but also foreign experts from Germany, Poland, Sweden and Estonia. Thanks to the online format, participants from different countries could take an active part in the discussions, present their research and discuss further cooperation plans.
