Dear Polytechnicians!
Today, at a time when our country is waging a heroic struggle against Russian aggression, let us recall one of the most tragic pages of Ukrainian history – the Holodomor of 1932–1933, the genocide of the Ukrainian people artificially organised by the Soviet authorities.
The Holodomor is not just a tragedy of the past, it is a crime against humanity that took millions of innocent lives. Its goal was to destroy the Ukrainian nation, its spirit, culture and desire for freedom. The same imperial ambitions and hateful ideology that led to the Holodomor are now pushing Russia to commit a new genocide against us.
We must remember these terrible events and pass this memory on to future generations. We must not only know the history of our people, but also prevent such a tragedy from happening again.
I urge every Polytechnician to join the events commemorating the Holodomor victims. Let’s light a candle of remembrance and bow our heads in memory of millions of innocent victims.
Eternal memory to the innocent victims!
