Recently, a delegation from China – representatives of CNNC China Zhongyuan Engineering Corp and Tsinghua University – paid a visit to Lviv Polytechnic. The meeting was held with Vice-rector for International Relations of our University Oleh Matviikiv, Director of the Institute of Power Engineering and Control Systems Andrii Lozynskyi, as well as ITRE lecturers Inesa Bolshakova and Serhii Ubizskyi and IPEC lecturer – Mykhailo Semerak.
– This is our first meeting with representatives of this company and the university. CNNC China Zhongyuan Engineering Corp serves nuclear power plants, builds power station in different countries of the world. Now it is entering the Ukrainian market and is interested in cooperation with universities, including Lviv Polytechnic, which train future energy engineers. Within the framework of this meeting, the Chinese delegation familiarized us with their training opportunities and invited our students to Beijing University. The training is entirely at their expense, – said Vice-rector Oleh Matviikiv. – Of course, we are interested in double diploma training or a joint master’ program so that students can study here and in Beijing as well.
Afterwards, they got acquainted with IPEC and ITRE students, as well as the laboratories that are a practical base at our university.
– There were a lot of students and a lot of questions. In general, the meeting was quite successful. Of course, Chinese want the best students who know English to study in Beijing. While talking at IPEC, Andrii Lozynskyi emphasized that for qualitative training of our students, practical component is very important, and the laboratories that companies open at our university help a lot. In general, I must emphasize that this is only the first meeting, so we will see how cooperation will be developing, added Mr Matviikiv.
