The competition for joint Ukraine-Austria research projects for 2023–2024, organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and Austria’s Agency for Education and Internationalisation, has been opened.
Researchers of higher education institutions, research institutions and enterprises from Ukraine are invited to participate in the competition.
Project proposals are accepted for all scientific disciplines and thematic areas.
To participate in the competition, you need to submit a letter of confirmation from the Austrian partner – the project manager – and his CV.
Funding is allocated for 2 years – for each year separately. Appropriate contracts for the implementation of projects are concluded with the executors every year. The decision to extend funding for the next year is made after reviewing the report for the previous year of work.
For a short-term stay in Austria (up to 14 days) within the framework of approved projects, the Austrian side pays Ukrainian researchers 100 euros per day (accommodation and per diem). For a long-term stay (from 15 days to 3 months maximum) – 1400 euros per month.
The Ukrainian side pays for the Ukrainian researchers’ travel Ukraine-Austria-Ukraine and medical insurance. For invited Austrian scientists, the Ukrainian side covers the expenses related to their stay in Ukraine.
In addition, the contract for the performance (handover) of scientific research works between the Ministry of Education and Culture and the institution implementing the project provides for items of costs for the purchase of materials and overheads to support the organization where the scientific research project is performed.
Candidates for participation in the competition from the Ukrainian side should make sure that their Austrian partners have submitted an appropriate application to Austria’s Agency for Education and Internationalisation.
The deadline for project submission is November 21, 2022.
