An agreement on in-depth cooperation in the field of education has been signed between the Institute of Computer Science and Information Technologies, Lviv Polytechnic National University, and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Bialystok University of Technology (Poland).
The impetus for this event was the Ukrainian-Polish conference, which was organized in 2019 at Bialystok University of Technology. The partners in organizing this scientific event were: the Department of Computer-Aided Design, Lviv Polytechnic National University, and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Bialystok University of Technology. During the communication, exchange of views on the achievements, there were established relationships, which out of scientific interest grew into an educational direction, making the cooperation between HEIs closer.
Roman Trochimczuk, Doctor of Technical Sciences, the Institute of Automation, Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Bialystok University of Technology, visited our University.
«The visit of our Polish colleague to draft and sign the agreement is very important for us. This agreement provides not only for scientific exchange, but also for the exchange of students and academic staff, including educational activities, and the exchange of those involved in Erasmus+ joint programs. It is also important to emphasize that this cooperation provides an opportunity to share training equipment in some laboratories. Our students and teachers will be able to put their theoretical knowledge into practice in Polish laboratories, test their models, while Polish colleagues will be able to use our licensed programs, which are not available at Bialystok University of Technology», said Uliana Marikutsa, Deputy Director of ISCIT.
«We want to develop conditions for the creation of double degree programs of the first bachelor’s and second master’s degree. We saw a large percentage of disciplines in the educational program No. 122 (computer science), namely the design and programming of intelligent systems and devices of Lviv Polytechnic, identical to the newly created direction of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Bialystok University of Technology – digitalization of industry», added Uliana Marikutsa.
According to Roman Trochimczuk, the representative of Bialystok University of Technology, it remains to finalize the last moments, and to agree on certain details in order to launch the double diplomas program in the new academic year.
«The Polish diploma is a European certificate that is valid in all EU countries. Therefore, such a program will be very useful for Ukrainian students. In addition, there is close cooperation between Poland and Ukraine, so this is an important cultural exchange, we are establishing another bridge of unity», said Roman Trochimczuk.
In the spring and summer, an advertising campaign will be organized among students and academic staff of Lviv and Bialystok Universities to apply to participate in the new educational program.
