Representatives of the Department of Electronic Engineering, the Institute of Telecommunications, Radioelectronics and Electronic Engineering, Lviv Polytechnic, met with the management and leading specialists of the global semiconductor company SiTime.
SiTime Corporation is a precision timing company. The company's programmable ICs offer a rich set of features that enable customers to differentiate their products with higher performance, smaller size, lower power and higher reliability. With over 2.5 billion devices shipped, SiTime is changing the timing industry.
At the meeting, they discussed the possibility of involving the SiTime company in the educational process, the analysis of educational programs, assistance in conducting practical training of students with the involvement of experts in classes and educational trainings at the University.
Representatives of the SiTime company noted that there is currently an acute shortage of technical specialists with higher education in the field of electronics and electrical engineering. Manufacturing companies are already experiencing a shortage of design engineers and technological engineers. Specialists who combine technical and economic education with knowledge of foreign languages will be especially valuable. The intensive development of electronics and fierce competition on the labor market require young specialists to make quick decisions that depend not only on fundamental knowledge, but also on speed and creativity of thinking.
The participants of the meeting agreed on further cooperation in the formats of master classes, guest lectures by the company's leading specialists and the manufacturing internships for students of the Department of Electronic Engineering, adjusting the educational process in accordance with the needs of employers.
