Dear Lviv Polytechnicians!
We turn the last page of 2018, full of many events of national significance. Undoubtedly, the most significant of them became the Unification Council of the Orthodox Churches of Ukraine, which was held in the St. Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv and voted to unite the existing Ukrainian Orthodox churches. This is an event of enormous historical significance that became the symbol of our spiritual independence.
Ukraine confidently goes to its identity, to those imperishable democratic values cherished by Europe and the whole civilized world. The Year 2018 was a turning point in this sense. It allowed us to make a radical revaluation of ourselves, becoming more confident we chose the right path to European integration.
The reform of secondary education started in Ukraine. And we all hope that it will harmonize the whole educational process and supply higher education institutions with well-trained and professionally motivated entrants.
This year Ukraine has strengthened its army that is fighting Russian aggression in the territory of our country, and is a guarantee of our independence and sovereignty. It is symbolic that the official greeting in the Armed Forces and the National Police became «Glory to Ukraine! Glory to Heroes!»
Over the last year lots of important and significant events took place in our Alma Mater. We are successfully implementing the target program of developing educational and scientific activity and expanding a wide range of fundamental and applied research and development.
According to the results of this year admission campaign, Lviv Polytechnics is ranked among the best Ukrainian universities and is included to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings
But the most important task for us is not quantity, but quality! We must have the best students and the best teachers. Only thus we can achieve high level in education. In this sense, it’s difficult to overestimate the work of the newly created Tech StartUp School, which has been transformed into a great platform for close collaboration between young researchers and business representatives that helps to test offered scientific and technological ideas.
We also have monumental and challenging tasks for the year 2019. Lviv Polytechnic has to confirm its high status of the National University, to improve its educational and scientific processes, as well as the efficiency of research work, to strengthen and modernize material and technical base and to stabilize our financial position. I firmly believe that we will succeed.
I sincerely wish everyone Happy New Year 2019 and Merry Christmas!
May these holidays – the forerunners of life and renewal – bring you and your family kindness, joy and new inspiration for significant achievements!
Christ is born!
Glorify Him!
