Midsummer – is time to rest. But this is not about Lviv Polytechnic students who study Public Administration at the Department of Administrative and Financial Management of the Institute of Administration and Postgraduate Education. They went to Germany to do their internship at the Thuringian University of Public Administration.
What is the advantage of such a trip?
- Firstly, they attended lectures on public administration in various spheres of the civil service (administrative court, penitentiary service, police, tax and financial services, development investment fund), conducted by high-ranking government officials and self-governing bodies of the Free State of Thuringia in Germany.
- Secondly, they had informative excursions to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Erfurt Bildungszentrum Unternehmensverbund, central part of Erfurt, ancient Friedenstein Palace at Gotha, Gotha Insurance Museum and others.
- Thirdly, and most importantly, students gained new knowledge and experience, and had the opportunity to compare principles and foundations of public administration in Ukraine and Germany. We hope they will use this knowledge in their future profession.
The German TV MDR Thüringen journal, the Thüringischen Landeszeitung, the Wirtschaftsmagazin (the magazine of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Erfurt), as well as the official website of Erfurt Bildungszentrum Unternehmensverbund reported about the visit of the delegation of Lviv Polytechnic National University to Thuringian University of Public Administration and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Erfurt.
We sincerely thank Dr. Robert Klüsener, the rector of Thuringian University of Public Administration, for his warm and friendly hospitality.
Also we would like to thank Professor Gerald Grusser, the director general of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Erfurt, for the financial support of the project.
It is worth noting that the same trip is planned for the next year.
