International academic mobility opens up many opportunities for career advancement and expansion of scientific activity of academic staff. Due to international programs, employees of Lviv Polytechnic can get acquainted directly with the education systems in other countries.
«Academic mobility is extremely important for ensuring the quality of the educational process and conducting research. Scientific, academic staff and employees who go abroad have the opportunity to get acquainted with the peculiarities of teaching process in progressive international universities. Undoubtedly, this contributes to the implementation of new topics of lectures and teaching methods in the educational process. Academics can also carry out research if academic mobility takes place within international projects. This allows our scientists to conduct research on modern equipment, which is often lacking in our laboratories», said Nataliya Chukhray, Vice-Rector for Education and International Relations.
Academic exchanges are becoming more and more popular in the world. The international projects are submitted, joint research is conducted and scientific papers are written with international partners, basing on the results of establishing relationships during academic mobility.
«Academic and scientific exchanges between universities are supported by grants and projects of the European Union. In 2020, Polytechnic received 50 new academic exchange agreements under the Erasmus+ KA1 programme. They provide for different types of academic mobility of academic staff – trainings for academics, semester training for students, and training for administrative staff», said the Vice-Rector.
