The concert «Japan – Traditions and Modernity» was held at the library of Lviv Polytechnic National University.
The event started with the gifts which our Japanese guests prepared for all present as a sign of gratitude for the desire to plunge into the world of Japanese culture.
The first part of the concert featured traditional Japanese dances Nihon Buyo by the Sigayama Ryuz school. The prelude to the dance was a guitar melody by Kuwata Moriosi. Pleasantly impressed the fact that Mr. Moriosi performed dressed up in an embroidered shirt, which he bought after attending the exhibition «KhéyñoΣοφια Ukrainian embroidery».
Famous Japanese dancers Sigayama Zidzuya and Imagawa Ayako performed the next dance. Interestingly, traditional Japanese dance is not just the ability to own your body, but a short story that is narrated with the help of symbolic movements and the use of some objects, for example, handheld fans.
Then performed Sigayama Vakhoo, an honorary teacher of traditional Japanese dances at the Sigayama Ryuz school. Her dance let us for a moment come to Japan and feel ourselves a part of Japanese culture.
The second part of the concert featured great performance by Kuwata Moriosi, who presented the famous hit of Endless Love, the Japanese rock band. The melody of the heart did not leave anybody indifferent and the audience was deeply touched by its lyricism.
At the end of the concert there was a long-awaited performance by a well-known Japanese singer Ono Aki. She performed several of her hits, but the song Prayer for Peace attracted the most attention. Together with Olha Litynska, the academic of the Department of Foreign Languages, the singer performed the song Sakura-Sakura. In conclusion, Ono Aki expressed her gratitude to everyone present and said that she is sincerely in love with Ukraine and prays for peace together with Ukrainians.
